ANTHRAX Guitarist SCOTT IAN Comments On His NYC Rock Bar

October 30, 2006

ANTHRAX guitarist Scott Ian has issued the following update:

"I've been back and forth to [New York City] four times in the last 2 weeks. My head is spinning from all the flights and I'm heading back tomorrow.

"The grand opening of the club that I am a partner in is Tuesday night. It's called Retox (www.retoxrockbarnyc.com) and it's off the hook, as they say. The 'soft' opening was insane last week. Frankie Bello, Kobie Jackson, Mike Diamond and I jammed on a bunch of cover tunes. Tuesday night Frankie and I are playing with CYPRESS HILL there. What makes the performances so cool is that it's really intimate. People are on the stage as we play. You don't get to see stuff like this anywhere else.

"If you're in NYC and want to rage, check it out. Retox Rock Bar, NYC, 511 West 28th Street. I'll be there Tuesday and again on November 10. I'm going to start a 'Scott Ian and Friends' (I don't know what I'm gonna call it yet) night."

Scott Ian is scheduled to take part in the next Rock 'n Roll Fantasy Camp (RRFC),which will take place in Los Angeles Feb. 15-19, 2007 (President's Day weekend). Other musicians slated to participate include Paul Stanley (KISS),Mickey Hart (GRATEFUL DEAD),Bret Michaels (POISON),Steve Vai and Jane Wiedlin (GO-GO'S).

ANTHRAX is expected to release a new studio album in 2007 — the group's first since the reunion of the classic "Among the Living" lineup (featuring vocalist Joey Belladonna and guitarist Dan Spitz).
