ANTHRAX Guitarist Says DIMEBAG Memorial Concert Was 'An Amazing Experience'

February 27, 2005

ANTHRAX guitarist Scott Ian has posted the following message on the band's official web site:

"I'm on a short bus somewhere between Sao Paulo and Rio emailing El Brento [ANTHRAX webmaster]. This Blackberry gizmo is quite handy. Thanks technology!

"Last Wednesday night we played the benefit for Dime at the Aragon in Chicago. It was incredible. The audience was on another level even for Chicago. It was an amazing experience celebrating, yes, celebrating an amazing man's life. Everyone there was touched in some way by Dime in their life and the outpouring of love was electric. I wish we could've played for you all night. I was so charged up with emotion and adrenaline that it went by in a flash. The moment when Vinnie [Paul, PANTERA/DAMAGEPLAN drummer] got up behind the drums was the most emotional I have ever felt on stage. That experience will be burned in my mind. It was a serious moment and the crowd, no pun intended, rose up to a new level with us. My blood was on fire.

"Thank you so much for being a part of this. Your love keeps his memory alive. We flew to Brazil at 7 AM the next morning.

"Last night we played Sao Paulo to 5000 or so raging zombies who only wanted to be fed metal. They sing so loud here and not just the words. They sing the guitar solos as well! Sick. A great start to this tour. More soon."
