ANTHRAX Guitarist Hopes To Release New Album By Next Summer

September 14, 2007

Gus Griesinger of Glam-Metal.com recently conducted an interview with ANTHRAX guitarist Scott Ian. A couple of excerpts from the chat follow:

Glam-Metal.com: How did you get involved in Rock 'n' Roll Fantasy Camp?

Scott: They called my management or my management called them. I did the last one in Los Angeles a few months back. I had a really good time at that one and it turned out that I was going to be in New York. For this weekend, so it all worked out!

Glam-Metal.com: What other projects are you involved in besides Rock 'n Roll Fantasy Camp and ANTHRAX?

Scott: Right now I'm writing a comic for DC for their character Lobo. I just finished a record with Pearl (his fiancée) and we're going out on a two-week tour in the UK in November. I'm also writing an ANTHRAX record.

Glam-Metal.com: What's the status of ANTHRAX right now?

Scott: We're writing a record. We'll keep on writing till the end of the year, and maybe we'll get into the studio by the end of the year and hopefully we'll have a new record by next summer.

Glam-Metal.com: Have you guys got a new singer yet?

Scott: I can't talk about it!

Glam-Metal.com: So, no comment?

Scott: No Comment.

Glam-Metal.com: How did you feel being a part of the reality show "SuperGroup"?

Scott: It was awesome! It was like summer camp... with Ted Nugent as your counselor (laughs)! For me it was an awesome experience! It was one of the coolest things I've ever done!

Glam-Metal.com: Do you see you guys doing any future DAMNOCRACY things (gigs, etc.)?

Scott: No. Definitely not! Not because we don't like it, it's just impossibility. They picked five guys that are still current and doing stuff or otherwise what would be the point of having a show? The problem is none of us have the time to commit to anything. Once the show was over we all just went our separate ways again. We are all just super busy, were all doing stuff. It would just be impossible from a scheduling point to ever get it done.
