ANNIHILATOR, MNEMIC Members Join Forces In SILENT STRAIN

January 9, 2006

Hailing from Canada, Denmark and Russia, Dave Padden (lead singer of ANNIHILATOR) and Mircea Eftemie Gabriel (guitarist of MNEMIC) have united with Cory McBain (guitarist),Igor Chiefot (drummer) and Rick Struve (bassist) to create SILENT STRAIN. The idea is simple: a furious metal outfit combining crushing "guitar-as-bulldozer" riffs, dreamy anthemic melodies and frenetic drumming to form a pure metal concept — sheer groove and melody delivered with absolute intensity. SILENT STRAIN is said to be "a must for every MACHINE HEAD, AT THE GATES and (early!) MESHUGGAH fan." Three songs — "All Hell", "My Fault" and "Means of Control" — have been uploaded to the band's MySpace.com account.
