ANNIHILATOR Mainman: 'I Am Not In MEGADETH!'

ANNIHILATOR's Jeff Waters has shot down reports that he has been asked to play for MEGADETH on the group's upcoming tour following the rumored departure of MEGADETH's most recent guitarist Glen Drover.

Although MEGADETH has yet to address the rumors via its official web site, numerous postings on various message boards (including MEGADETH's official forum, where such messages are regularly deleted) have suggested that Drover has left the band in order to focus on family life.

In a statement released to BLABBERMOUTH.NET, Jeff Waters addressed the reports by saying, "As my e-mail inbox is getting hit by more MEGADETH rumours, I better cut this one off at the roots. I love MEGADETH, it's killer music; Dave [Mustaine; MEGADETH mainman] and the guys in his band, they are all good players and, more importantly, good people. Yes, Dave and I are friends and, over the years, there has been talk about me working with him. However, I am not in MEGADETH!"

ANNIHILATOR will release its latest album, "Metal", in North America on January 15, 2008 via SPV.

"Metal" was released in Europe in April via SPV Records). The CD's ten new tracks were recorded by Jeff Waters (guitar, bass and lead vocals on one song),drum legend Mike Mangini and Dave Padden (longtime vocalist and touring guitarist/vocalist). The album features sensational performances by some of metal's finest players and ANNIHILATOR's good friends, like Alexi Laiho (CHILDREN OF BODOM),Danko Jones, Michael Amott and Angela Gossow (ARCH ENEMY),Corey Beaulieu (TRIVIUM),William Adler (LAMB OF GOD),Jeff Loomis, Jesper Strömblad (IN FLAMES),Steve "Lips" Kudlow, Anders Björler (THE HAUNTED),Jacob Lynam (LYNAM) and more.
