ANNIHILATOR Frontman: I Am Not Leaving The Band

January 9, 2006

ANNIHILATOR frontman Dave Padden has rejected speculation that he may be leaving the band as a result of his involvement with SILENT STRAIN, a side-project he recently formed with MNEMIC guitarist Mircea Eftemie Gabriel.

Padden posted the following message earlier today on ANNIHILATOR's official forum: "Just a quick note on this: I was reading Blabbermouth and someone asked if I was still in ANNIHILATOR. Not to worry, kids. I'm still very much in ANNIHILATOR. This is another project for me to do a different kind of metal that isn't as fitting for ANNIHILATOR. And thanks to anyone who stops by. I hope you like it and thanks to Jeff [Waters, ANNIHILATOR mainman] for being ultra-cool about it. He's been very supportive and that means a lot to me."

In addition to Padden and Eftemie Gabriel, SILENT STRAIN features Cory McBain (guitar),Igor Chiefot (drums) and Rick Struve (bass). The band is said to be "a must for every MACHINE HEAD, AT THE GATES and (early!) MESHUGGAH fan." Three recently recorded demo songs — "All Hell", "My Fault" and "Means of Control" — have been uploaded to the band's MySpace.com account.
