ANATHEMA: New Songtitles Revealed

September 19, 2005

ANATHEMA guitarist Daniel Cavanagh has posted the following message on the band's official web site:

"We play a gig [tonight, Sept. 19] in London supporting H.I.M. and I know a few people have questioned this, but I for one am looking forward to playing in a packed out London venue to people who may not know our music. And then we have the new songs. Which one will turn out the best? Probably all of them, as I think we will look after this record and make the right decisions. I only hope we can find the right management and record company to do this properly. Trial and error. You live and learn. Isn't that the way of things? New songtitle ideas include 'Voodoo', 'Everything', 'A Simple Mistake', 'No One is Free' and 'Angels Really Do Walk Among Us...' Musical directions? Ever seen a chaos star?"

ANATHEMA are currently writing and recording new material at Sewerside Studios in Yorkshire, U.K. for a tentative 2006 release. The band recently issued a DVD, "Were You There?", containing a full live show recorded on ANATHEMA's "A Natural Disaster" tour, an acoustic concert performed with a string quartet from the Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra, plus videos, live clips and other extra features. The artwork and menu designs have been conceived by Travis Smith.
