ALICE COOPER Repaying Debt By Opening For THE ROLLING STONES

September 29, 2006

Launch Radio Networks reports: ALICE COOPER plays the second of his three opening gigs for THE ROLLING STONES tonight (Friday, September 29) at the Churchill Downs horse racing track in Louisville, Kentucky. It's been a long time since COOPER opened for anyone, but he told Launch that the STONES were a major reason why he decided to become a professional musician, so he's glad to do it. "The thing about opening for the STONES is that you gotta picture me at 15 years old, seeing THE ROLLING STONES on TV for the first time, on 'Ed Sullivan', and realizing that that's what I wanted to do. Any time that you get a chance to be on the same bill as THE ROLLING STONES, I mean, you, you immediately drop your headliner status and say 'Absolutely, we'll open for the STONES.'"

COOPER will finish up his dates with the STONES on November 8 in Glendale, Arizona, at Cardinals Stadium.

COOPER's own tour hits Nashville tomorrow (Saturday, September 30) for a show at the country music shrine the Ryman Auditorium.
