AKERCOCKE: New Axeman Aboard

U.K. death metallers AKERCOCKE have officially announced the addition of former BERZERKER guitarist Matt Wilcock to the group's ranks. "After surviving his recent Satanic baptism with great aplomb at a one-off show in Hamburg, Mr. Wilcock was offered the position, which he duly accepted," according to a press release. "The Satanic death metallers are currently planning a short run of U.K. dates before heading to the studio this summer to record their fourth, as-yet-untitled album."

AKERCOCKE's most recent album, "Choronzon", was released in October 2003 via Earache Records. The CD was mixed at Sonic Ranch studios in Tornillo, Texas with producer Neil Kernon (NEVERMORE, CANNIBAL CORPSE) and features artwork by legendary U.K. rock photographer Fin Costello.
