AFTER FOREVER Part Ways With Keyboardist, Announce Replacement

May 9, 2004

Dutch gothic/atmospheric doom metal group AFTER FOREVER have parted ways with keyboardist Lando van Gils and have replaced him with Joost v.d. Broek, formerly of SUN CAGED. "Lando has decided to leave AFTER FOREVER because of personal reasons," according to a posting on the band's web site. "He left in good friendship and will put up his own statement later on this week. The gig in De Bosuil (May 14 in Weert) will be Lando's farewell gig."

In related news, SUN CAGED have issued a statement on their official web site confirming Joost's departure and announcing a split with singer Andre Vuurboom. Andre "decided to leave the band since he and Joost worked very closely together since they live in the same town and the distance he has to travel to rehearsals caused him troubles," reads the post. "Joost and Andre want to thank the fans for all their support throughout the years and they hope that the fans will support them with their new bands and projects.

"SUN CAGED regrets their decision but of course the band will search for new musicians since the band is going very well at the moment. The band has gigs planned at Sweden Rock and Prog Power USA Pre Party and more. At Sweden Rock the band will play with singer Andre and keyboard player Joost for the last time. All planned gigs will NOT be cancelled for now. In the meanwhile the band will start searching for new musicians, so are you a singer or a keyboard player and you want to join a band which is growing each minute, and has international success, then contact us right away, auditions start soon. Contact the band at: [email protected]."
