May 27, 2007

Finnish metallers ADASTRA have made available for download a new track, entitled "Stood My Ground". Check it out on the band's MySpace page. The song comes off the group's debut album, "The Last Sunset", due on June 6 via Violent Journey Records. The CD includes "old" favorites and a bunch of previously unheard songs. The track listing is as follows:

01. Visions of Armageddon *
02. Lady Pain
03. Fight Against Time
04. This Life **
05. Stood my Ground **
06. Get back to the Ring
07. Loving me to Death
08. Adastra
09. The Sun **

All songs written and arranged by guitarist Olli Anttila, except * written and arranged by Anttila and guitarist Jari Hartman; and ** written by Anttila and arranged by ADASTRA.

According to the band's official bio, ADASTRA is "a modern heavy metal band that derives its influences from a wide range of class acts. IRON MAIDEN, JUDAS PRIEST, METALLICA, IN FLAMES, BLACK SABBATH, DIO, MEGADETH, among others, have had their fair share of influences in ADASTRA's work. Old-school-style clean-vocals of Ville Siikamäki, combined with the rapid leads and heavy riffs of Olli Anttila and Jari Hartman and the steady pulse of Santeri Vauramo's bass, controlled by the precise drumming of Jussi Ruokolainen, create the music of ADASTRA."
