November 3, 2008

"Vamphyri", the first track from "Archangels In Black", the new album from French neo-classical metallers ADAGIO, is available for streaming on the band's MySpace page.

Listenable Records has set a February 2, 2009 European release date for "Archangels In Black". The cover artwork, which was created by Guilherme Sevens, can be viewed below. The first trailer for the CD is also available.

According to a press release, "without being a concept album, 'Archangels In Black' evokes the band’s convictions about a certain Nightside philosophy and a very personal approach of life and death." Guitarist Stéphan Forté says, "Darkness is a concept with many branches, often misunderstood from outside, but elemental for some kind."

The CD was mastered at the Cutting Room in Sweden with Björn Engelmann (RAMMSTEIN, MESHUGGAH). According to Stéphan Forté, "Björn did an amazing job. The result is heavy as fuck and makes the songs even more powerful!!! We're a 110% happy with the result."

"Archangels In Black" is the first CD to feature ADAGIO's latest addition, Finnish singer Christian Palin.

Palin is a member of the Swedish/Finnish combo ESSENCE OF SORROW and RANDOM EYES.
