AC/DC's New Zealand Support Acts Announced

December 9, 2009

According to Stuff.co.nz, Kiwi rock acts SHIHAD and THE CHECKS will open for Anglo-Australian hard rock legends AC/DC on their highly anticipated New Zealand tour next year.

The bands will perform at all three of AC/DC's New Zealand tour dates: January 28 and 30 at Westpac Trust Stadium in Wellington; and at Western Springs in Auckland on February 4.

Promoter Garry Van Egmond said the bands were an "awesome fit" for AC/DC.

"New Zealand will never have and probably never will again see a rock extravaganza of this caliber," he said. "It's huge. It's not just a concert. It's an event."
