AC/DC Not Performing At 'WrestleMania'

February 3, 2009

AC/DC is not performing live at WrestleMania XXV, which takes place on April 5 at Reliant Stadium in Houston. Despite published reports that the band would play at the event, AC/DC's publicist confirmed to The Pulse of Radio that the group will not appear and will instead be in the midst of a European tour. Although it was reportedly announced by World Wrestling Entertainment CEO Linda McMahon that the band would play, that information was never officially confirmed by the group or its label, Columbia Records, and may have possibly been garbled in initial online reports.

Two AC/DC tracks, "Shoot To Thrill" and "War Machine", are being used as theme songs for WrestleMania XXV, which might have led some to believe that the band would perform the songs at the event.

AC/DC begins its European tour on February 18 in Norway and will be playing all over that continent through June 30.

The band's world tour in support of its latest album, "Black Ice", is expected to wind down in its Australian homeland by the end of 2009.
