ZIMMERS HOLE Guitarist To Sit Out Canadian Dates; Temporary Replacement Announced

March 6, 2008

ZIMMERS HOLE, the Vancouver-based project featuring guitarist Jed Simon and bassist Byron Stroud of STRAPPING YOUNG LAD alongside legendary drummer Gene Hoglan (STRAPPING YOUNG LAD, TESTAMENT, DEATH, DARK ANGEL),has issued the following update:

"Well, we are only days away from the release of the new album, and things are heating up around here.

"We have been doing interviews and press, filming video, reworking our official site and rehearsing for the upcoming warm up tour of western Canada. There is a lot to get prepared for and we have all been very busy, and that's just how we like it.

"The official site at ZimmersHole.com will launch any day now...we took it down and re-worked the whole thing, so it will be all new. Our webmaster Christophe has been working his little Belgian ass off to get it all ready for us, thanks Christophe!

"As some of you may already know, we filmed a video in Vancouver recently. We did the title track off of the new album, 'When you were Shouting...', and so far it's looking very metal indeed. Our singer The Heathen has been involved in the film industry in Vancouver for a long time now, and he pulled in all kinds of favors. So we got a pretty decent video for the budget that we had. Killer stuff. Shitloads of fire and explosions!! Thanks to that whole crew who worked really hard those two days to make it happen.

"The video was produced and filmed by renowned director Ryan Short, who is known for his work with HIMSA and 3 INCHES OF BLOOD. He is a very cool cat and was a pleasure to work with. I hope we can do it again sometime. Cheers, bro!

"On a not-so-cool note... ZH guitarist Jed Simon will be sitting out the upcoming Canadian shows due to family health issues. Two members of his immediate family are battling through some tough health stuff, and he needs to focus on family right now. We wish him and his family the best. Jed actually suggested that the band go out and do the shows instead of canceling... With a new album and everyone getting excited, he thought it would better if the band continue. He will be rejoining the band as soon as he can. In Jed's place, ZIMMERS HOLE would like to welcome Dave Teague on guitar. Dave is an old wily veteran, and will be a welcome addition to the HOLE. Dave's past credits include THE DICKIES, MUZZA CHUNKA, ANGRY SAMOANS, and the DIMWITS to name a few. He brings in some great chops, and a love for all that is metal. We also dig like that fact that 'Teague is in League'...haha! Hold on to your hat, Dave, the Hot Winds of Metal are kickin up!"

ZIMMERS HOLE's new album, "When You Were Shouting At The Devil...We Were In League With Satan", will be released on March 11 via Century Media Records. According to the band, "this album is a metallic beast. With it, we honor all that is metal, with love in our hearts, and horns in the air... and a few spilled drinks!??"

Born in 1991, ZIMMERS HOLE has been Byron and Jed's significant other band when not busy with STRAPPING YOUNG LAD or FEAR FACTORY. In the beginning, it was always just a way of spending the weekend drinking far too much and writing absurd songs. As time went on, the group "matured" somewhat, although maturity is highly overrated as far as these guys go, but two remarkable albums ("Bound By Fire" and "Legion of Flames"),a series of successful tours and a string of absolutely unforgettable shows soon followed, putting the mighty ZIMMERS HOLE on the lips of many.
