ZAKK WYLDE's ZAKK SABBATH Taps CLUTCH Drummer For September Shows

May 30, 2017

Drummer Jean-Paul Gaster of Maryland rockers CLUTCH will sit behind the kit for ZAKK SABBATH for three shows in September. He will be filling in for regular ZAKK SABBATH drummer Joey Castillo, who is unable to make the dates due to "prior commitments."

ZAKK SABBATH is the BLACK SABBATH tribute band featuring Zakk Wylde (BLACK LABEL SOCIETY, OZZY OSBOURNE) and bassist Rob "Blasko" Nicholson (OZZY OSBOURNE, ROB ZOMBIE).

Tour dates:

Sep. 07 - Baltimore, MD @ Baltimore Soundstage
Sep. 08 - Sayreville, NJ @ Starland Ballroom
Sep. 09 - Mashantucket, CT @ Outdoors at Foxwoods Resort Casino (Revolution Rock Festival)

Tickets will go on sale Friday, June 2 at ZakkSabbath.live and VIP upgrade packages will be available on Monday June 5 at ZakkSabbath.VIP.

ZAKK SABBATH will release a limited-edition EP, "Live In Detroit", on June 16 via Southern Lord Recordings.

The three tracks comprising "Live In Detroit" were captured at the band's thundering performance at The Fillmore in Detroit, Michigan on October 28, 2016.

Southern Lord will release "Live In Detroit" as a one time, vinyl-only pressing in multiple color variants.

Speaking about his decision to perform SABBATH covers with ZAKK SABBATH, Zakk said: "The music that you listen to in your youth, you carry with you the rest of your life. So it feels like there's no difference playing on stage now from when we were 15 years old playing these same songs in our friends' kitchens or keg parties in the backyard… I'm [50] now, so it shows you how timeless the music is."
