10 YEARS' Tour Bus Attacked By Suitcase-Stealing Marines?

July 1, 2006

10 YEARS guitarist Matt Wantland has claimed that the group's tour bus was attacked by two U.S. marines in Pensacola, Florida recently. The rockers apparently were asleep at around 5 a.m. when the assailants attempted to enter the bus and steal a suitcase. The band and its crew allegedly fought off and chased the men before they were apprehended by the police.

Commented Wantland: "So it's about 5 in the morning and I'm sitting in the front of the bus about to go to bed. Aout this time I see the door of the bus fly open and some guy tackle our lighting guy and another guy trying to get in the bus over them. Our monitor engineer happened to be outside and grabbed the guy trying to get in and bodyslammed him on the curb. Instinctively I jumped up and grabbed the guy wrestling on the floor and helped drag him out. We got them out, shut the door and called the cops. At this point one of the guys grabbed one of trash bags sitting on the curb and smashed it against the bus window, breaking beer bottles and scattering trash everywhere. Then we noticed his friend running off with one of our suitcases. The noise at this point has woken everyone up and I hear all bunk curtains fly open, everyone is grabbing some sort of makeshift weapon on the way, a beer bottle, wine bottle and a random screwdriver. We start chasing the guys down because, well no one is got take our shit. Just about then the cops come around the corner (very quick response, by the way),grab the guys and get our stuff back. After talking to everyone seperately we go back in the bus and try to shake it off. Come to find out the guys were marines and the police called the MP to come pick these guys up, so who knows how much trouble they are in, but unfortunately that's what happens when you try to storm the fucking castle! And I'm not condoning violence in anyway, but no one comes in our home."

10 YEARS shot two new music videos at the end of May at the legendary Whisky A Go Go club in Los Angeles, for the band's current single, "Through the Iris", and the title track of "The Autumn Effect".

10 YEARS recently made an EP of four acoustic tracks available exclusively through the iTunes online music store. The digital EP includes unplugged versions of "Wasteland" and "Through the Iris".
