WITHIN TEMPTATION Frontwoman Pregnant With Third Child; European Tour Postponed

November 26, 2010

Vocalist Sharon den Adel of Dutch symphonic metallers WITHIN TEMPTATION has released the following statement:

"As we are all gearing up for the release of our new album I have news which might come as a surprise: Robert [WITHIN TEMPTATION guitarist Robert Westerholt] and I are expecting a child. To be honest, this was not planned at all, but we're very happy about it as we experience our kids as an enrichment of our lives.

"I'm happy to tell you that the release of our new album will not change: March 2011! The recordings for the album are completed and the songs are being mixed right now, all preparations for the release are in full swing, so there is no reason to put things on hold.

"However, we couldn't avoid rescheduling our tour as it will be impossible for me to deliver a great show for you while being in the final months of my pregnancy. Also due to the complications during the previous pregnancies, it is dangerous for our baby and for me to be very active in these final months.

"The tour dates have already been rescheduled to the fall of 2011. The tickets you have bought will remain valid for the new dates which can be found on this page.

"We understand that the rescheduling of our tour is a blow for you and we can only sincerely apologize for the inconvenience caused as we very much appreciate the fact that so many of you have bought tickets for the shows early on.

"We hope for your understanding and support and we'll do everything to make the upcoming tour the best you've ever seen from us yet!"

Sharon den Adel and Robert Westerholt welcomed their second child, Robin Aiden Westerholt, on June 1, 2009. The couple also has a five-year old daughter named Eva Luna den Adel.

WITHIN TEMPTATION very much honors the fact that a lot of their fans have bought tickets early on with the effect that the shows in London, Paris, and Copenhagen were upgraded to bigger venues. Due to the strong demand for tickets, 12 additional shows are added to the rescheduled European tour, which now kicks off on September 21. New shows in Portugal and the Czech Republic have now been confirmed as well.

WITHIN TEMPTATION is currently in the studio putting the finishing touches on its long-awaited fifth studio album with producer Daniel Gibson. Titled "The Unforgiving", this is the band's first concept CD and is based on a comic book story written by script writer Steven O'Connell (BloodRayne, Dark 48). The band asked comic artist Romano Molenaar (Witchblade, Darkness, X-Men) to draw the characters and scenery of "The Unforgiving", which is set for release in March 2011 via Sony Music in Continental Europe and Roadrunner Records in the U.S., U.K. and Ireland, Japan and Australia.

Drummer Stephen van Haestregt left WITHIN TEMPTATION earlier in the year in order to focus on his family life and work as a studio technician.

"An Acoustic Night At The Theatre", the latest live album from WITHIN TEMPTATION, was released in North America on December 15, 2009 via Roadrunner Records. The release was made available via all digital music providers, while physical copies were made available exclusively at the newly launched Roadrunner Recordsweb store.

"An Acoustic Night At The Theatre" contained the brand new song "Utopia", written during the rehearsals for the theatre tour. A duet with U.K. singer-songwriter Chris Jones (whom Sharon met while working with world-famous DJ Armin van Buuren on his track "In And Out Of Love"),"Utopia" is about two lovers who can't be together because they are separated by their contrasting dreams of the ideal life.

WITHIN TEMPTATION released a double-DVD, titled "Black Symphony", on September 22, 2008. It is also available as a double-CD.
