WITCHERY: Another New Song Available For Streaming

June 11, 2010

"From Dead To Worse", a brand new track from Swedish metallers WITCHERY, is available for streaming at the band's MySpace page. The song features a guest solo by Andy La Rocque of KING DIAMOND fame.

Commented WITCHERY guitarist Jensen: "Andy was an old friend of the band since he recorded the 'Witchburner' EP (back in 1999).

"I think all musicians would at some point like to play with other musicians that they respect. Like with jazz, the constellations of musicians are always changing, but with metal it's a lot more rigid. Having people do guest solos is the closest way of collaborating in metal."

La Rocque stated about his contribution to "Witchkrieg": "It's always cool to put down a solo on a good song and something that is good-sounding, I think I was in the right mood at the time also, which made it sounding melodic and crying."

"From Dead To Worse" comes off WITCHERY's new album, "Witchkrieg" , which will be released on June 21 in Europe and June 29 in North America via Century Media Records. The CD was mixed and mastered Antfarm studios by Tue Madsen (DARK TRANQUILLITY, THE HAUNTED, HEAVEN SHALL BURN). The cover artwork, which can be viewed below, was created by Andreas "Diaz" Pettersson.

"Witchkrieg" features additional guest appearances by Kerry King (SLAYER),Hank Shermann (MERCYFUL FATE, FORCE OF EVIL, DEMONICA) and Jim Durkin (DARK ANGEL).

Behind-the-scenes footage from the making of "Witchkrieg", the new video from WITCHERY, can be viewed below. The clip, which was shot in early May in Stockholm, Sweden, was filmed, directed and produced by Daniel Larrson and AT THE GATES/THE HAUNTED guitarist Anders Björler (At The Gates Productions).

WITCHERY's lineup reads like the who's-who of Swedish metal: Guitarist Jensen plays with THE HAUNTED; lead axeman Rickard Rimfält rocks for SÉANCE; bass player Sharlee D’Angelo is in charge of the low end in ARCH ENEMY and SPIRITUAL BEGGARS; while drummer Martin "Axe" Axenrot pounds the skins for OPETH and BLOODBATH.

"Witchkrieg" marks the recording debut of new WITCHERY vocalist Legion (ex-MARDUK, DEVIAN).
