WINTERTHRALL Part Ways With Guitarist, Seek Replacement

November 4, 2005

WINTERTHRALL, the Orange County, California-based doom/death metal project featuring drummer Rob Alaniz (NOCTUARY, ex-RISE, EVILDEAD),guitarist/vocalist Steve Nelson (NOCTUARY) and bassist Ruben Lugo, have posted the following message on their official web site:

"It's been a crazy past couple of months. Some big changes have happened, so without further ado…

"The good news: As you recall, we finished recording the album last May, and released a promo to a lot of labels in an effort to get signed. We have received some good responses so far and it looks as though a deal is hopefully in the works! And even though the recording is done, we shall be going in to change some leads and add some vocals from the very talented Janis Tanaka (ex-HAMMERS OF MISFORTUNE, now in P!NK). We have also made some new shirts (they'll be in the merch section soon) featuring the re-worked logo by Christophe Spzadjel.

"Now the bad... It is with regret that we announce the departure of Liz [guitarist Elizabeth Schall] from the band. The strenuous demand of time and learning the new material, along with her commitment to [all-female IRON MAIDEN tribute band THE IRON MAIDENS] proved to be too much and She has decided to move on to greener pastures ($$$). We wish her well on the path she has chosen and thank her for the good times we had while she was with us.

"We have a temporary substitute and already a few people interested in filling the position. BUT we will continue to look for the right person. In the meantime, anyone who is interested feel free to email us at [email protected]. You'll need transportation, professional gear /attitude and a flexible practice schedule. Especially important is the will to contribute musically."

WINTERTHRALL's full-length debut, tentatively titled "Nightmares for the Sleepless", was recorded at Shiva Industries Studio in Santa Ana, CA with Sir-Loin John Haddad at the helm. The CD will feature 10 to 12 tracks, including "The Audient Void", "Blood From A Broken Wing", "Standing In The Light Of A Failing Sun", "Edifice Of Betrayal", "Cycles Of The Flesh", "In Frozen Apathy", "Malevolence", "By The Will Of The Night", and re-worked versions of the demo tracks "The Nightmare Passages", "Dreams To Dust", "...And The Meek Shall Inherit Nothing", and "Autumn Caskets". The band also recorded two covers (BRUTAL TRUTH and CARCASS) which may or may not end up on the CD as bonus tracks.
