WES BORLAND Takes Break From ROB ZOMBIE Album, Begins Work On Solo CD

April 13, 2004

Former LIMP BIZKIT guitarist Wes Borland has posted the following message on the web site of his post-BIZKIT outfit EAT THE DAY:

"Hey, so here's a few things...first of all, now that EAT THE DAY has been put on the shelf for a while...maybe forever, I've been up to a few things. The ROB ZOMBIE album was a good outlet for a few weeks. We finished the demos and have about 16 songs ready to go, but Rob has to spend 100% of his time working on his new movie right now, so further recording has been pushed back to July. In wake of this Zombie postponement, I started to fiddle around with some music of my own, and it seems to be turning into a pretty serious solo effort. I've contacted a few friends to be a part of this project and they all seem excited. I'm thrilled about it because I really feel like the 13 songs I have represent the headspace I am in musically at this point in my life. I'm trying to create a sound that mixes together everything I am inspired by right now, which includes an arsenal of instruments that I have not been able to incorporate into anything I've tried previously. I don't want to get to much into exactly what it's going to be like, as it is still taking shape and all is subject to revision. Because of this, I am planning on changing the site over to become wesborland.net in the next few months...with full artwork update, site redesign, the whole 9 [yards]. Until then, the old site will have to do. You will still have access to the old site and access to bigdumbface.com and goatslayer.com after the new site has launched. I also have another possible massively cool (in my book anyway) project coming up that I can't tell you anything about except that I think it's...well great, obviously."
