WATCH THEM DIE Sign With CENTURY MEDIA RECORDS

May 31, 2003

Oakland-based purveyors of the extreme WATCH THEM DIE have signed an exclusive worldwide contract with Century Media Records. Armed with a bold mission statement stating that they can play with any band on any stage at any time, and crush them all in the process, this quintet is out to annihilate anything that stands in their way.

WATCH THEM DIE rose from the ashes of several highly influential underground bands — GRIMPLE, SCHLONG, ELDOPA (a.k.a. 1332),WORD SALAD, BUZZOV-EN and OJOROJO — but they refuse to solely rest on their past accomplishments. Due to their energetic and sometimes violent live shows powered by high decibel sound levels, they were already headlining Bay Area venues by their fourth show, garnering a rabid fanbase in the process.

Vocalist Pat Vigil states, "WATCH THEM DIE feels strongly that Century Media is the right label for our music and mission in 2003, as well as in the years to come. We will fly the Century Media flag proudly at every stop of our assault upon the eyes and ears of metal heads around the world. They have a history of working with some of the most extreme, crushing live bands ever, and we plan to continue that tradition by touring (United States and Europe) extensively in support of our upcoming release, and all future releases that carry the WATCH THEM DIE name. A fistful of respect to Century Media and a sword in the throats of those that doubt."

Further blurring the lines between Bay Area thrash, grindcore, crust, punk and metal, WATCH THEM DIE continues in the versatile tradition of genre-defining Bay Area bands such as MACHINE HEAD and NEUROSIS. Their self-titled debut album is set for an early fall release.

Upcoming WATCH THEM DIE tour dates (w/ HIGH ON FIRE):

Jun. 12 - Spaceland – Los Angeles, CA
Jun. 13 - Starburst Lounge – Downey, CA

Jun. 16 - Launch Pad – Albuquerque, NM
