According to The Pulse Of Radio, CHICKENFOOT reunited at the Fillmore in San Francisco on Tuesday night (May 15) during the fifth annual "Acoustic-4-A-Cure" benefit concert. After opening the show with a short set of his own, ex-VAN HALEN singer Sammy Hagar returned to the stage to join the other members of CHICKENFOOT — guitarist Joe Satriani, bassist Michael Anthony and RED HOT CHILI PEPPERS drummer Chad Smith — for their first performance together in just over two years.
The quartet clearly seemed to be enjoying themselves, playing songs from their catalog including "Oh Yeah", "Sexy Little Thing" and "Something's Going Wrong".
Other performers throughout the evening included co-host Bob Weir, REO SPEEDWAGON's Kevin Cronin, Eddie Money, Vic Johnson and blues legend Taj Mahal.
CHICKENFOOT formed in 2008 and released two studio LPs and one live set, with the band making infrequent appearances since 2011.
"Acoustic-4-A-Cure" was created by Hagar and METALLICA's James Hetfield, who co-hosted the first three years. Artists who have performed at the event include Dave Grohl, Billie Joe Armstrong, Jerry Cantrell, Linda Perry, Melissa Etheridge, Pat Benatar & Neil Giraldo, Adam Sandler, Nancy Wilson, Tommy Lee and many more.
The yearly show benefits The Pediatric Cancer Program at UCSF's Benioff Children's Hospital.
