VOLBEAT's Debut Album Certified Gold In Denmark
"The Strength, The Sound, The Songs", the debut album from Danish metallers VOLBEAT, has been certified gold in Denmark for sales in excess of 20,000 copies. The CD in 2006 became the first Danish heavy rock release in over 10 years to break the national Top 20.
VOLBEAT's sophomore album, "Rock the Rebel / Metal the Devil", entered the Danish chart at No. 1 upon its release in late February 2007 and stayed in the Top 5 for three months. The LP was certified platinum in Denmark for sales in excess of 30,000 copies. According to the band, this marks the first time a Danish metal album has sold platinum in Denmark.
VOLBEAT recently entered Jacob Hansen studio in Ribe, Denmark to begin recording its third album, due late summer via Holland's Mascot Records.
"Rock The Rebel / Metal The Devil" will be released in the U.S. on June 10.
