VOIVOD In Process Of Recording New Demos

The current incarnation of VOIVOD—vocalist Snake (a.k.a. Denis Belanger), guitarist Piggy (a.k.a. Denis D'Amour), drummer Away (a.k.a. Michel Langevin), and ex-METALLICA bassist Jason Newsted—are in the process of recording demos for their much-anticipated new studio album, according to a July 9th posting on the web site of Newsted's Chophouse Records. "The quartet and [producer] Brian Joseph Dobbs [i.e. MANMADEGOD, ECHOBRAIN] plan to record a new album in Northern California later this year," continues the brief message.

Although no official word has come down on the matter, it is believed that the as-yet-untitled CD will surface through Century Media Records in early 2003. So far, only one song title has been revealed for the forthcoming effort: "Gasmask".
