VIRGIN STEELE: Summer Festival Appearances Planned

May 22, 2004

VIRGIN STEELE frontman David DeFeis recently spoke to Germany's Dragonight web site about the band's current activities and the status of his "Lilith" project. "We are currently preparing for a few Italian open air summer festival shows, where we will be performing very long sets," David said. "Most likely they will be between two hours and 45 minutes in length, to over three hours. We will be performing a wide range of choices from the VIRGIN STEELE catalogue. And yes we are also doing a few 'acoustic' shows in September. These are interesting in that with only me and [guitarist] Edward [Pursino] onstage we have the challenge to still keep up the same intensity as the full group's electric shows. We also play many things in this format that we don't normally get a chance to do in the electric format. For example we do very heavy acoustic versions of 'Perfect Mansions' and 'Unholy Water' to name a few. And... as regards my 'Lilith' work...it is still being recorded at present. Once it is complete we will release it. This should not be too far away in the future, as a large amount of work has already been done. This 'work' is actually about three CDs long... I have the difficult task of trying to divide it up coherently into several separate CDs..."
