VINNIE PAUL: 'DimeVision' DVD 'Will Put A Smile On Your Face'

Former PANTERA/DAMAGEPLAN drummer Vinnie Paul spoke to Launch Radio Networks last week about "DimeVision - Vol 1: That's The Fun I Have", the upcoming DVD tribute to Vinnie's brother and bandmate "Dimebag" Darrell Abbott. Due May 2 through Paul's newly founded label, Big Vin Records, the DVD will feature both performance footage and offstage antics from the legendary guitarist. His brother and bandmate Vinnie Paul told Launch that the disc captures the essence of Abbott's personality. "I think it's a really amazing tribute to my brother and it'll put a smile on your face," he said. "It'll make you laugh and there's stuff on there that people have never seen, and there's stuff on there I'd never seen, that just — I couldn't believe it. I was just like, 'Man, nobody could cut up like Dime.'"

REBEL MEETS REBEL, a project recorded by Abbott before his death with Paul, former PANTERA bassist Rex Brown and "outlaw" country singer David Allen Coe, will release their self-titled CD on May 2 through Big Vin.

Abbott was killed onstage in December of 2004 by a deranged fan during a DAMAGEPLAN concert in Columbus, Ohio.
