Video: Former DEATH ANGEL Drummer Plays First Show With THE NERV

July 31, 2013

Former DEATH ANGEL drummer Andy Galeon made his first official appearance as a member of the San Francisco Bay Area punk/hardcore outfit THE NERV this past Saturday, July 27 at Thee Parkside in San Francisco. Video footage of the performance can be seen below. Photos are available at this location.

Galeon is well-known as the original founding drummer of the groundbreaking Bay Area thrashers DEATH ANGEL, as well as THE ORGANIZATION, and several other projects. Most recently, Andy has been involved with END THE SUFFERING, a metal/thrash/punk outfit, and FOS ROCK, a "multi-sonic" blend of hip-hop, funk and metal.

THE NERV has fast been rising in the ranks of Bay Area punk/hardcore circles, including recent high-profile shows with THE TUBES, AGENT ORANGE, DOA, HAUNTED BY HEROES, and D.R.I. The band is currently in the studio recording new material for an upcoming CD. Galeon’s drumming will be heard on these new tracks.

Says THE NERV bassist Ian Larkin: "[Andy is] a great fit. He brings the proper dynamic to the pulse of our sound, and the right attitude!"

Adds Galeon: "I want to fit my aggressive playing style into [THE NERV's] already powerful groove — and propel it forward into the future."

He continues: "I think it's a really good fit! They are a tight unit, and I identify with that. I also identify with their attitude!"
