VICTORY, CENTURY MEDIA, METAL BLADE Among Top Indie Labels

According to Hits Daily Double, Victory Records and ADA are the indie market leaders with information gleaned from this week's current album sales chart. The RED-distributed Victory Records has .44 of the market for all labels that are not owned or partially owned by a major, not publicly traded, distributed by a major or in the budget business. TVT is #2 with .22, followed by Epitaph (.22),Century Media (.16),country label Equity (.14),dance label Ultra (.13),New West (.12),Cleopatra (.11),regional Mexican label Freddie (.11) and Metal Blade (.10). As for distributors, Andy Allen's WMG-owned ADA is tops with 3.3, followed by Sony BMG's RED (2.8),Koch (1.6) and EMI's Caroline (1.1). Figures are not broken out for UMGD's Fontana.
