February 26, 2007

Two lucky UltimateBet free online poker players will challenge the likes of GODSMACK's Sully Erna, DAMAGEPLAN and PANTERA's Vinnie Paul and even ZZ TOP's Dusty Hill to a not-so-friendly game of poker during VH1 Classic Rock n' Roll Celebrity Poker Tournament. The televised debut in Las Vegas will premiere on VH1 Classic on Wednesday, March 14 at 10:00 p.m. EDT.

As one of the event sponsors, UltimateBet.tv awarded two of its free online poker players with the opportunity to participate by registering online with their daily free roll to become a contender during the celebrity poker event.

"The cowboy from Hell is coming to town, winner takes all!" proclaimed DAMAGEPLAN and PANTERA's Vinnie Paul upon announcing his participation in the event.

The prize package, worth $2,500, included roundtrip airfare, hotel accommodations and ground transportation in Las Vegas, as well as $150 per day. The tournament was recorded in front of a live audience of 150 people in Vegas from October 31 to November 3.

Sully Erna, lead singer of GODSMACK, challenged tournament players to "Go ahead and try to SMACK me out of this tournament."

All cash winnings of the poker tournament will be donated to the charity of the tournament winner's choice. The 1st place winner will also win a trip to Aruba for next year's UltimateBet Poker Classic.

As players are knocked out of the tournament, they will enter a "Green Room" hosted by poker greats Antonio Esfandiari and Phil Laak. Interviews will be conducted, coaching sessions will be given by Phil Laak, and a heads up tournament will be played. The champion of the Green Room heads up tournament will win a Cruise to Alaska.

The televised event, hosted by poker legend Phil Helmuth, will include rock star poker celebrities Sully Erna, Vinnie Paul, Dusty Hill, Ace Frehley (ex-KISS),and Scott Ian (ANTHRAX).
