VEIL OF MAYA Guitarist Interviewed In Vienna (Video)

On November 15, Jörg of Freethinkers.at conducted an interview with guitarist Marc Okubo of Chicago-based extreme progressive metal titans VEIL OF MAYA in Vienna, Austria. You can now watch the chat in two parts below.

"Eclipse", the third full-length album from VEIL OF MAYA, sold 7,800 copies in the United States in its first week of release to debut at position No. 76 on The Billboard 200 chart. The band's previous CD, "[id]", sold around 5,000 copies in the United States in its first week of release, according to Nielsen SoundScan. The effort landed at position No. 1 on the Top New Artist Albums (Heatseekers) chart, which lists the best-selling albums by new and developing artists, defined as those who have never appeared in the Top 100 of The Billboard 200.

Produced by djent hero Misha Mansoor of PERIPHERY, "Eclipse" is "a stunningly concise yet diverse metal record, packed full of death-metal chops, tech-metal grooves, progressive arrangements and hardcore rip-yer-throat-out attitude," according to a press release. "The guitar work is as slick is it comes — stunning precision, inventive melodies and tasteful use of technique that will equally impress the muso as much as the metal head. But most importantly, this album is full of so many memorable riffs, rhythms and vocal hooks that you'll be itching to hit play again as soon as it's finished."
