TOOL recently performed their lone concert of 2015 in Arizona. There is no word yet on whether the band will have a new record out in time for next year's tour, or will at least preview new music on the trek. Bassist Justin Chancellor mentioned a while back that sometimes new material emerges during the gig. "We do a lot of kind of segues, you know," he said. "When the shows start to really flow, you know, you start to come up with little segues that take one song into another, whether it's like an old song into a new one or whatever, you know. It starts to help the entire set really flow. And those pieces, those little links, if you like, they tend to become song ideas for the future, definitely."

TOOL guitarist Adam Jones revealed in March that the band had finally settled a complicated lawsuit that had dragged on for eight years, setting back the band's recording plans. The group is now reportedly working at a faster pace on music for its first new studio set since 2006.

Singer Maynard James Keenan's other band, PUSCIFER, released its third studio album, "Money Shot", on October 30. The act is on tour now.
