THUNDERSTONE: In Writing Mode

August 27, 2004

Finnish melodic power metallers THUNDERSTONE are currently writing songs for their third album, tentatively due next spring through Nuclear Blast Records. The band recently entered Sonic Pump studios in Helsinki to record three new songs as part of the pre-production process for the new CD. The actual recording sessions for the follow-up to this year's "The Burning" are tentatively scheduled to take place in November/December.

THUNDERSTONE's sophomore album, "The Burning", entered the Finnish Album chart at position No. 17 upon its release in January. The follow-up to 2002's "Thunderstone" was recorded at Sonic Pump with producer/guitarist Nino Laurenne and was mixed at Finnvox Studios with Mikko Karmila (NIGHTWISH, CHILDREN OF BODOM). Included on the CD is a guest appearance by SYMPHONY X guitarist Michael Romeo in the track "Drawn to the Flame".
