TheSTART Sign With NITRO, Prepare To Hit The Road

October 9, 2003

Los Angeles-based , featuring former HUMAN WASTE PROJECT frontwoman Aimee Echo, have signed a new deal with Nitro Records.

"After a year and a half on our own, we felt the next logical step was to find a safe home for us to grow with people that understand who we are," the band said in a statement.

The group's first release for the label will be a brand-new enhanced EP, tentatively due in December. A new full-length album will surface in the spring.

TheSTART will be teaming up with LILLIX, THE PEAK SHOW, NORTHERN STATE and BRASSY for the first annual Girlz Garage Tour, a month-long trek that is set to kick off on October 20 in Boston and conclude on November 23 in Detroit.

According to an official press release, the Girlz Garage Tour will embrace an organic mixture of female musicians that are ready to steal the stage. This eclectic bill offers a diverse cross section of bands that are already clouding the airwaves, ranging from rock to punk to hip-hop. Through branding of the Girlz Garage on the 2003 Vans Warped Tour, the tour will be able to branch out to showcase bands for 2003 and future tours while establishing a dominating female audience and appeal.

Initially seen as a reoccurring attraction on the Vans Warped Tour, the Girlz Garage originated as the Ladies Lounge, and has been with the Vans Warped Tour since its inception in 1995.
