THERION Vocalist Interviewed By INFERNAL MASQUERADE

October 25, 2010

Infernal Masquerade webzine recently conducted an interview with vocalist Thomas Vikström of Swedish progressive/experimental metallers THERION. You can now listen to the chat using the audio player below.

The THERION video contest for the track "Sitra Ahra" is now over — and THERION mastermind Christofer Johnsson has picked a lucky winner. His name is Fredrik Mattson, and he's from Sweden. The lucky man won a meet-and-greet with the band plus a massive voucher for the Nuclear Blast shop.

Commented Johnsson: "It was really cool to watch these clips and in the end we had a vote in the band to choose a clip as the winner. The winner had the best storyline as well as the best special effects, so it was an easy choice, even though we really liked a lot in the other clips as well. The flipped out stuff is very THERION-ish indeed!"

The winning video can be viewed below.

"Sitra Ahra" is scheduled for release in North America on October 26 through Nuclear Blast Records. The CD was mixed at the legendary Polar Studios in Stockholm by Lennart Östlund (LED ZEPPELIN, ABBA). The cover artwork was created by Thomas Ewerhard, who worked on all of the band's most recent releases in addition to collaborating with EDGUY, AVANTASIA, RAGE and HAMMERFALL, among others.

"Sitra Ahra" was mastered in New York and it features the following track listing:

01. Sitra Ahra
02. Kings Of Edom
03. Unguentum Sabbati
04. Land Of Canaan
05. Hellequin
06. 2012
07. Cu Chulain
08. Kali Yoga III
09. The Shells Are Open
10. Din
11. After The Inquisition: Children

THERION recently recruited Christian Vidal from Argentina as the band's new guitarist.

Vidal made his live debut with THERION on June 4, 2010 in Mexico City.

Christofer Johnsson announced in May 2009 that Vikström had become a permanent member of THERION.

THERION's latest CD/DVD, "The Miskolc Experience", was released in June 2009 via Nuclear Blast Records.
