THE HELLACOPTERS Frontman Checks In With Latest Update

THE HELLACOPTERS guitarist/vocalist Nicke Andersson (ex-ENTOMBED drummer) has posted the following message on the band's official web site:

"Dear recipients of the rock,

"I hope everyone is doing great and that 2004 has treated you good so far! I thought I'd let you know that there are no easychairs around here at camp Hellacopter even though we're not out on the road sweating it out for you at the moment. Yes, keeping busy we are. Here's some information about what I think YOU need to know:

"CLUB WILD KINGDOM: Carl Von Schewen (Wild Kingdom Records, founder of White Jazz Records),Henrik Walse (Hellacopter minister of art) and yours truly have a club together at Debaser in Stockholm. Once a month usually. On Tuesday, Feb. 10, next week it's time again. If you're around I strongly urge you to go. Why? Well not only do we, the hosts, play the BEST music around — THE RAMONES, THE KINKS, THE DICTATORS, CHEAP TRICK, THE NERVES, FLAMING GROOVIES, RASPBERRIES, S.L.F., THE DAMNED, MC5, DWIGHT TWILLEY, BIG STAR etc. — but we're immensely proud to brag about the house band — THE WILD KINGS!!! Featuring members of THE HELLACOPTERS, SATOR, THE TURPENTINES, THE REPUBLICANS and THÅSTRÖM. Last time they entertained us with prime interpretations of tunes by THE REAL KIDS, UNDERTONES, THE RUNAWAYS, BUZZCOCKS and more. Surprise guests chosen by the band will honor us with their presence. "THUNDEREXPRESS is the name of Strings' new project and a 2-track single will be out soon on Razzia. A full-length album will follow. More info on that later.

" 'Cream Of The Crap Vol. 2' will be out soon. I know we've been saying that for a while now but this time it's true. I'm not gonna jinx it by telling you a date but it'll be out EXTREMELY soon.

"SOULMOVER is me and Scott Morgan (THE RATIONALS, SONIC'S RENDEZVOUS BAND, THE HYDROMATICS, POWERTRANE) getting together in March to record an album of good school soul/r'n'b. It'll be released on Wild Kingdom before the summer if all goes well.

"KURT-SUNES MED HELVETES HUNDARNA 7" will be out soon on Birdnest Records. What it is? I'm part of it but I don't have a clue. But do check out www.birdnest.se for more confusing info. I hear it's pretty good.

"In the middle of all this (and much more) songs are being written for THE HELLACOPTERS next album. There's more to be told but I have to go to bed. Be good to yourselves and I'll see y'all later!"
