THE HAUNTED: New Album Artwork Unveiled

August 10, 2008

The cover artwork for "Versus", the new album from Swedish thrashers THE HAUNTED, can be viewed below. Due late September via Century Media Records, the CD was recorded in part at PUK studio in Denmark with producer Tue Madsen (HEAVEN SHALL BURN, DARK TRANQUILLITY, MOONSPELL, etc),who previously worked with the group on its two most recent LPs, "rEVOLVEr" (2004) and "The Dead Eye" (2006).

In other news, THE HAUNTED's previously announced August 14 concert at the Anthem Metal Festival 2008 at Hangar 11 on the shores of Tel Aviv, Israel has been cancelled due to "security issues." The band said, "We are sad to say that the agreed on advance fee for the show never showed up, and in agreement with how our agent works to provide the best service and security to us as a band the show was pulled.

"We really think it sucks big hairy balls, but we have played way too many shows in the past where we or our agent have had to squeeze the agreed on fee from the promotor after huge hassles and sometimes paying money from our own pocket and in the end it just fucks with everyone from our fans, us as people and those who work with us.

"We hope there will be other opportunities in the future to make it possible for us to come and play under better circumstances."

Fan-filmed video footage of THE HAUNTED performing a new song at the Hultsfred festival, which took place June 12-14 in Hultsfred, Sweden, can be viewed on YouTube.
