THE HAUNTED: Album Title Competition Winning Entry 'Not Representative' Of New CD

March 4, 2004

Swedish thrashers THE HAUNTED have decided against using the winning entry in their recently closed "Album Title" competition for their upcoming CD because the title ("Subliminal Messages of Suicide Promotion") is "not representative [of] the work now being recorded in Studio Fredman," according to a post on the band's web site. "The rest of the suggested titles were all good, although most were just a good laugh."

THE HAUNTED are currently at in Gothenburg, Sweden recording their fourth full-length album, tentatively due late summer through an as-yet-undetermined label.

The group, who were recently rejoined by original vocalist Peter Dolving (MARY BEATS JANE, THE PETER DOLVING BAND) following the departure of Marco Aro, recorded a pre-production tape of four new songs in January for shopping purposes. Songtitles set to appear on the CD include "Almost Alive", "99", "Who Will Decide" and "Burnt To A Shell".

THE HAUNTED, who are expected to spend five weeks in the studio recording and mixing their new album, fulfilled their contractual obligations to Earache Records with the release of 2003's "One Kill Wonder".
