THE GATES OF SLUMBER Sign With I HATE RECORDS

November 10, 2005

Indiana-based doomsters THE GATES OF SLUMBER have inked a deal with I Hate Records. The group are scheduled to enter the studio in early 2006 to begin recording their sophomore album, "Suffer No Guilt", tentatively due in June. Songtitles set to appear on the CD include "Suffer No Guilt", "Dweller in the Deep", "God Wills It" and "Riders of Doom". In gearing up for this release, THE GATES OF SLUMBER will be releasing a CDEP, "Like a Plague upon the Land", through Hellride Records on November 22, 2005. The disc will contain four new songs — "Iron Hammer", "The Leach", "Feast of the Dead" and "Stitched Back From Deth" — and will feature artwork by Jeff Gaither. The EP, which will be limited to 999 copies and will be available at the Hellridesuperstore, will also come with a woven sewn-on patch. Plans are in the works for two possible tours of the European mainland in conjunction with this release. Further announcements will come as things are more finalized.

THE GATES OF SLUMBER started in 1998 as a backlash against the stoner rock trend prevalent at the time and with their mixture of SAINT VITUS, PENTAGRAM and prime-era CELTIC FROST.
