THE DILLINGER ESCAPE PLAN Interviewed On 'The House Of Zazz' (Audio)

On August 3, Sam Hatch of WWUH Radio's metal program "The House Of Zazz" was invited aboard THE DILLINGER ESCAPE PLAN's tour bus to speak with guitarist Ben Weinman and bassist Liam Wilson. The band was in Worcester, Massachusetts for the surprisingly lucky thirteenth stop of the 2013 Summer Slaughter Tour. Weinman discussed his physical rehabilitation techniques following the near-debilitating broken wrist he suffered back in June, the issue of fan and band safety during concerts meant to celebrate an unbridled freedom of expression, and the band's penchant for "getting in trouble" because of their extreme stage show. Also covered was their recent appearance on the Revolver Golden Gods telecast, the damage inflicted on their gear and instruments and the need for balancing technical playing prowess with real world experiences. On the sillier side of the street, Ben's possible impregnation by a famous nu-metal vocalist and the disturbing potential after-effects were hashed out in ways that might make even WATAIN queasy.

THE DILLINGER ESCAPE PLAN was forced to cancel its summer European festival and club appearances due to an injury sustained by Weinman on his right hand and wrist.

THE DILLINGER ESCAPE PLAN's fifth full-length album, "One Of Us Is The Killer", sold around 15,000 copies in the United States in its first week of release to debut at position No. 25 on The Billboard 200 chart. The CD was released on May 14 through the band's own Party Smasher Inc., in partnership with Sumerian Records in North America. Party Smasher's partnership with BMG covers the rest of the world, including licensing deals with Grind House for Japan and Remote Control in Australia.

"One Of Us Is The Killer" was recorded in Southern California with longtime producer Steve Evetts (GLASSJAW, THE CURE, SUICIDE SILENCE),with additional production at guitarist/co-founder Ben Weinman's studio. Mastering was handled by Tom Baker (DEFTONES, NINE INCH NAILS, BEASTIE BOYS).
