THE DARKNESS To Headline U.S. Arenas In September, THE WILDHEARTS Asked To Support

May 19, 2004

THE DARKNESS will embark on a U.S. arena headlining tour in September and they've asked THE WILDHEARTS to be one of the tour's opening acts, according to an online posting by THE WILDHEARTS frontman Ginger. The bond between the two bands is so close, according to Ginger, "that the thought of them playing anywhere this year, without us playing before them seems preposterous. Australia, Europe, UK. Fuck man, if you see the name THE DARKNESS playing a gig in Brunei, then I'd turn up early to see the opening act if I were you."

In other THE WILDHEARTS-related news, the band are planning on embarking on a U.S. headlining tour of their own in January 2005. "With luck we can bring THERAPY? along, carrying on the tradition that THE DARKNESS have set down, namely helping out your mates and not being a selfish, pocket-lining cunt," Ginger writes.

THE WILDHEARTS are tentatively planning on demoing new material in July. "Brand new tracks that rock your fucking ass clean from under your hips," says Ginger. "The band are all writing, and the riffs are fucking... fucking... fucking... descriptions fail to do them justice. Choruses and melodies to kill chickens for. I kid you not one jot."
