'The Best Of GG Allin And The Murder Junkies' DVD Due In January

December 7, 2008

MVD Visual has set a January 20, 2009 release date for "The Best Of GG Allin And The Murder Junkies" DVD. The disc is described as "a collection of live performances and disgusting moments together on one DVD. The very best of the very worst of GG Allin and the MURDER JUNKIES."

Hellbilly rocker Hank Williams III (ASSJACK, SUPERJOINT RITUAL, ARSON ANTHEM) stated about Allin: "GG Allin lived out his lyrics to the fullest and would make you feel his pain, no matter what style of music he was doing. Not only was GG Allin one of the most feared and hated frontmen of all time, he was also a creative, open-minded force. His music range varied from punk to hard rock mainly, but his love for true rebel acoustic songs often bled through. He had a style that rings true to this day. From the kids on the streets, or the squatters that live their life hopping trains from town to town, GG's spirit will live on in the underground until mankind is destroyed."

Born Kevin Michael Allin on August 29, 1956, G.G. Allin was arrested many times throughout his 15-year career for his wild stage antics. He would often perform naked, and his concerts included attacking audience and bandmembers, defecating, urinating, throwing feces at the crowd, and self-mutilation. G.G. promised throughout his career that he would commit suicide onstage on Halloween. He put this off many times throughout his career and died of heroin overdose on June 28, 1993.
