THE ACCUSED Unveils 'Martha Splatterhead' Mascot: Video Available

October 31, 2006

Seattle's reigning kings of "splatter rock" THE ACCUSED debuted their long-time mascot "Martha Splatterhead" live, on stage during their performance Saturday, October 28 in Seattle, Washington at Studio Seven. Watch a video clip at this location.

Until now, Martha Splatterhead was merely a ficticious character, invented by THE ACCUSED in a nod toward their fellow rockers, IRON MAIDEN — who of course have "Eddie." Martha has been drawn in various blood-curdling ways on album covers, t-shirts and flyers for over 20 years. She has been the "go-to" gal for several lyrical topics in songs by THE ACCUSED, including "Martha's Revenge", "She's The Killer", "She's Back" and others.

THE ACCUSED current lineup:

Brad Mowen (BURNING WITCH, AVSA, 90 PROOF, MOMMY, SWEATY NIPPLES, APES OF WRATH) - Vocals
Tommy Niemeyer (original member since 1981) - Guitar/Vocals
Prof. Iman A. Phid (formerly "Father Shark" of industrial/metal perverts THE PLEASURE ELITE) - Bass
Mike Peterson (BAM BAM, MOMMY, APES OF WRATH, SEAN) - Drums

THE ACCUSED's first album in over ten years, "Oh, Martha!" was recorded by Jack Endino at Scotty Crane's Soundhouse Studios in Seattle and was mastered by Scott Hull (PIG DESTROYER). The CD, which was originally issued in the U.S. in 2005, was released in Europe via Nuclear Blast Records.
