July 1, 2006

A 14-minute audio interview with SYSTEM OF A DOWN bassist bassist Shavo Odadjian, conducted on Wednesday, June 28 by "Metal Shop" on the Seattle station 99.9 KISW, has been posted online at this location.

SYSTEM OF A DOWN is planning on taking a long hiatus after completing this summer's Ozzfest. The group's guitarist, Daron Malakian, is forming a new band called SCARS ON BROADWAY and plans to work on their debut album this fall. Malakian told Billboard.com that Odadjian is likely to be part of the group.

Odadjian is also planning to collaborate musically with the WU-TANG CLAN.

Ozzfest kicked off in Seattle on June 29 and will wrap up on August 13 in West Palm Beach, Florida. SYSTEM OF A DOWN is co-headlining most of the trek with DISTURBED, with OZZY OSBOURNE topping the bill on selected dates.

The latest single from SYSTEM OF A DOWN's "Hypnotize" album is "Kill Rock 'N' Roll".
