SYMPHONY X Keyboardist To Guest On STYGIA Debut

July 9, 2008

Boston, Massachusetts-based up-and-coming "shred" guitarist Todd Seitz has issued the following update on the recording sessions for the debut album from his STYGIA project:

"I've made one more lineup change since we had some trouble arranging for Mats Olausson [YNGWIE MALMSTEEN] to make it to the states for keyboard sessions. We didn't expect to have a problem, but things tend to creep up on you every so often. We may still work with Mats on future material and live shows.

"On the bright side, Michael Pinella of SYMPHONY X will be recording keyboards on the upcoming album! I've always been a huge fan of Pinella's work and especially his keyboards on SYMPHONY X's 'V (The New Mythology Suite)'. I also own his solo album that is quite impressive. Pinella is a master of creating lush atmospheres. I'm very fortunate to work with LePond [SYMPHONY X bassist Michael LePond] and Pinella on the album. You can't get a better recording lineup than this!"

Recording lineup for the debut STYGIA album:

Todd Seitz (STYGIA) - Guitar
Michael Vescera (ex-LOUDNESS, ex-YNGWIE MALMSTEEN) - Vocals
John Macaluso (ex-YNGWIE MALMSTEEN, ex-ARK, ex-TNT) - Drums
Michael LePond (SYMPHONY X) - Bass
Michael Pinella (SYMPHONY X) - Keyboards
Hank Shermann (MERCYFUL FATE, FORCE OF EVIL, DEMONICA) - Guest Guitar Solo

According to Seitz, the CD will feature eight tracks for a running time of around 60 minutes.

The band intends to do some live performances after the LP release.
