Sweden's TREASURE LAND Seeks New Keyboard Player

February 1, 2007

TREASURE LAND, the Swedish progressive metal band who released two highly acclaimed CDs in 1997 and 1998, is seeking a new keyboard player. If you're interested, contact the group at [email protected].

As previously reported, TREASURE LAND is among the confirmed bands for the Gothenburg Metal Festival 2007, set to take place April 29-30 at Musikens Hus in Gothenburg, Sweden. A total of 12 acts will perform at the event, including FAITH, SABBTAIL and THUNDERBOLT.

After some years of writing new songs, producing other bands, writing guitar books, and doing clinics, guitarist Jonas Hörnqvist reformed TREASURE LAND with a new lineup. The group's current formation includes Rick Altzi on vocals, Magnus Hörnqvist on drums and Magnus Lind on bass.

Rick, whose voice resambles singers like Ronnie James Dio and Jeff Scott Soto, has a vocal presence and vocal capabilities "far beyond anything you've ever heard previously from the band," according to a press release. Guitarist Jonas Hornvqist states: "The current lineup that we have is the strongest lineup we've had throughout TREASURE LAND's existence."

TREASURE LAND last summer recorded a three-song demo which they are using to procure a record deal. The new material is described as "straightforward/in-your-face metal interlaced with strong neoclassical elements."
