SUIDAKRA Part Ways With Guitarist/Vocalist, Announce Replacement

August 28, 2005

German melodic black/death metallers SUIDAKRA have parted ways with guitarist/vocalist Matthias.

"After the Summer Breeze festival, it was decided by the band as a whole that it would be best for everyone if Matthias stepped down from his position in the band," reads a posting on the group's web site. "Matthias will therefore play his last SUIDAKRA show at the Bloodstock festival [in the U.K.] next weekend.

"After this decision was made, the band contacted their former guitarist/singer, and much to their surprise (and the surprise of many fans, no doubt!),Marcel is willing and able to rejoin SUIDAKRA as a full-time member! You'll be able to catch Marcel on stage with the others at the remaining SUIDAKRA shows after Bloodstock. SUIDAKRA will then take a break from touring until mid-2006, in order to concentrate 100 percent on the songwriting for the next album."

SUIDAKRA are continuing to tour in support of their seventh album, "Command to Charge", available now on Armageddon Music. The follow-up to 2003's "Signs for the Fallen" was recorded at Gernhard studio in Siegburg, Germany. Mastering duties were handled at the Monoposto Mastering Studio (DIE TOTEN HOSEN, SCORPIONS, TITO & TARANTULA etc.).
