SUICIDAL TENDENCIES, STATIC-X Members Featured On New SIX CD

June 8, 2007

SIX, the Huntington Beach, California-based band featuring former DROWN frontman Lauren Boquette, has announced the release of its new album, "Between The War and the Warning". The CD, which features guest appearances by Mike Clark from SUICIDAL TENDENCIES and bassist Tony Campos from STATIC-X, will be issued independently through the group's own 1605 Records.

"Tony and Mike were a blessing to this project," said Boquette. "After rocking out to one of our rough demos he got from a mutual friend, Mike wanted to meet us. That meeting turned into partying in Hermosa Beach over Tecates and Tequilla. By the end of the night he and his homie destroyed his coffee table, moshing to 'The Day I Died'. He came into the studio and just man-handled the guitar. I've never seen a guy rip like that so effortlessly." He added, "Tony and I go way back to my days in DROWN. We knew he was a monster on the bass and when it came time to track bass parts, I sent him 'The Day I Died' and 'Warning' knowing they would be right up his alley. He came in and within 2 hours the bass lines were on fire, he killed it."

Formed in 2001, SIX has been punishing the hard rock scene on their own terms with a fierce independent mindset that allows them to record and tour on their own terms. Comprised of members of alt-metal act DROWN and former touring members of CYPRESS HILL and OPM, the group's previous release, "The Price of Faith", received strong reaction from radio and prompted Amp magazine to say SIX "combine the modern-day crossover metal of MACHINE HEAD, METALLICA, and FEAR FACTORY with classic influences such as SABBATH, PRIEST, and MAIDEN." Since then the group has done hundreds of shows, touring the country and sharing stages with CLUTCH, GWAR, SLIPKNOT, DISTURBED, SHADOWS FALL, STONE SOUR and countless others.

Mike Clark stated, "SIX is the only band that I've come across that could pick up where SUICIDAL left off. This is some hard, real, West Coast shit."

Added Lauren: "This is the best album I've ever made. After living in a van for the past five years building SIX, we put everything we are into this one. Every drop of blood and every mile traveled. You want to hear a very hungry band that is out to destroy the world? Just push play!"

SIX has uploaded three tracks from the album, including the band's new single "The Day I Died", at the group's MySpace page. The group has also announced the first batch of dates for their forthcoming Summer Assault 2007 tour with more dates to be announced soon. The tour will kick off June 14, 2007 in Long Beach, CA with special guests DROID, the first band signed to Emotional Syphon Recordings, the independent label owned by KORN guitarist James "Munky" Shaffer.
