Stoner Rockers WE Top Norwegian Album Chart

September 24, 2004

Norwegian stoner-rockers WE, whose sound is described as "hippy, trippy [mixture of] SABBATH/ZEPPELIN," have seen ten years' work and five previous albums pay off handsomely this week. WE's sixth CD, "Smugglers", cut at Hangaroundsounds Studios and produced by Chris Goss (MASTERS OF REALITY, KYUSS, QUEENS OF THE STONE AGE) has quite sensationally crashed into the Norwegian album charts at No. 1.

Previously WE has issued an eclectic range of genre defying albums such as 1994's "In a Field of Moose", 1996's "Violently Coloured Sneakers", 1997's "Wooferwheels", 2002's "Dinosauric Futurobic" and 2003's "Light Years Ahead". During 2002 they also issued a split EP with Danish acid rockers GAS GIANT on the Burn The Hippie label and supported QUEENS OF THE STONE AGE on their Scandinavian dates.

Upfront promotion for "Smugglers" included a video for the track "Catch Electrique", featuring hotly tipped Norwegian actress Ane Dahl Torp.
