South Africa's TOYLAND Tap Producer RON GOUDIE For New Album

April 22, 2005

Cape Town, South Africa's heavy-hitters TOYLAND have secured the services of cutting-edge producer Ron Goudie (TSOL, POISON, AGENT ORANGE, SOCIAL DISTORTION, GWAR, STRYPER, BOY HITS CAR, FEAR) to guide the up-and-coming band through the recording of their new release. It's Goudie's second trip to the dark continent as he has helmed the recording of Botswana's ill-fated METAL ORIZION, whose singer/guitarist Spencer suddenly died from meningitis last year during a break in the recording. Goudie says "obviously we expect different results on the TOYLAND project. Who would have thought that could happen?"

Recording is slated to start in September as soon as Goudie is finished with his commitments in Australia and Los Angeles. TOYLAND's Joe Mullin says, "We have been working harder than ever on the new material we feel 100 percent confident the new songs are up to the level we want them to be. We just want to thank Witchdoctor [Records] head honcho Shaughn Pieterse for putting in so much faith in TOYLAND and really having the energy to get the label behind us."

TOYLAND's as-yet-untitled second album is set to feature such tracks as "Prisoner of Life", "12 Gauge One Shot", "It's Rising", "Nightmares", "Written in Blood" and "Breathless". An early 2006 release is expected.
